SEWER & MAINLINE CLEANING & INSPECTIONS
Action Drain & Plumbing is pleased to provide a highly-trained team of drain cleaning experts with the right tools to get your drains open and flowing again!
Sewer lines can accumulate debris and obstacles resulting in poor drainage. If you notice sewer backups, slow drains, flooding inside your home, a lack of water, bad odors, or water pooling outside, it’s likely that you have a blockage or obstructions in your sewer or main line that requires cleaning or repair...and may need to be completely replaced. Action Drain uses state-of-the-art, high-def equipment to locate and trace sewer lines and possible damage. We provide honest advice about the condition of the line and whether the line needs replacing, cleaning, hydro-jetting or cabling regularly.
Action Drain & Plumbing professionals have the training and tools to accurately, affordably and quickly identify faults and apply solutions:
-
Sewer Line Video Scope Inspection: A flexible, waterproof camera is inserted into the sewer line which allows us to identify blockages and issues from inside the sewer line.
-
Snake & Auger: Removes grease or the buildup of foreign objects that restrict or prohibit proper water flow for sewer lines, particularly older lines with turns or fragile pipes.
-
Hydro-Jetting: Pressurized hot water removes buildup and debris from inside your sewer or main line, but may not be possible on older, fragile sewer lines.
If a sewer line has broken pipe or corrosion it may be necessary to repair or replace your sewer lines. Action Drain & Plumbing offers excavation options to repair or replace sewer or water lines including water line pulling, open cut or trench sewer lines, trenchless pipe-bursting technology, and pipe lining.

SEWER LINE CLEANING
Clearing and cleaning of obstacles in your home's mainline / sewer line.
Mainline cleaning, also known as sewer mainline cleaning or drain mainline cleaning, is a process used to remove blockages, debris, and buildup from the main sewer or drain lines in a plumbing system. These mainlines are typically the primary conduits that carry wastewater and sewage away from homes and businesses to the municipal sewage system or septic tank. Over time, these mainlines can become clogged with various substances, such as grease, soap scum, hair, roots, and other debris, which can lead to backups, slow drainage, and potential sewer system problems.
Mainline cleaning is important to maintain the proper functioning of your plumbing system and to prevent costly and unsanitary sewage backups. The process of mainline cleaning involves the use of specialized equipment and techniques to clear obstructions and clean the inside of the main sewer or drain lines.

The primary method of mainline cleaning involves using a drain snake or auger. A drain snake is a flexible, long cable with a corkscrew-like end that is inserted into the mainline. As it's pushed through the pipe, the corkscrew end helps break up and dislodge obstructions, allowing water to flow freely.

HYDRO-JETTING
High pressure water jets clear obstructions.
Hydro-jetting is a powerful and versatile method used for cleaning and clearing blockages in pipes and sewer systems. It involves the use of high-pressure water to remove debris, sediments, and obstructions from within the pipes, effectively restoring their functionality. The equipment used for hydro-jetting typically consists of a high-pressure pump, a hose, and a specialized nozzle "jet head" that directs a focused stream of water into the pipes.

While hydro-jetting is an amazing tool to clean sewer lines, it is not always possible or advisable. Hydro-jetting uses high-pressure water, which can damage older or fragile pipes, such as those made of clay or certain types of plastic. The location and accessibility of the mainline cleanouts, with mainlines that have multiple bends and turns, hydro-jetting may not be as effective in reaching all areas. In these cases, other methods like mechanical snaking may be more appropriate.

SEWER LINE CAMERA INSPECTIONS
A video inspection of your sewer lines to reveal hidden problems.
A sewer line camera inspection, also known as a sewer scope or sewer camera inspection, is a process used to inspect the condition and integrity of underground sewer and drainage pipes. It involves the use of a specialized video camera that is designed to navigate through the sewer line, capturing real-time footage of the interior of the pipes.

Our flexible, waterproof camera is inserted into the sewer line through an access point. The camera is attached to a long, flexible rod or cable that allows it to be pushed and maneuvered through the pipes.

As the camera travels through the sewer line, it transmits a live video feed to a monitor where a technician can observe and assess the condition of the pipes. Your Action Drain technician can control the camera's movements to navigate through bends, joints, and other potential problem areas.

The inspection may reveal various problems, including (view graphic below for more information):
-
Blockages: Accumulations of debris, grease, or foreign objects that obstruct the flow of wastewater.
-
Cracks and Leaks: Structural damage, such as cracks, fractures, or separated joints in the pipes that can lead to water leakage.
-
Root Intrusion: Tree roots growing into the sewer line, which can cause clogs and damage.
-
Corrosion: Erosion or corrosion of the pipes due to age, material type, or chemical exposure.
-
Bellies or Sags: Areas of the pipe that have settled or shifted, causing water to pool and potentially lead to blockages.
-
Collapsed Pipes: Sections of the pipe that have collapsed or suffered severe damage.
-
Offsets or Misalignments: Sections of the pipe that are not properly aligned, which can hinder the flow of wastewater.

Common Sewer Line Failures
Sewer lines can fail for a number of reasons. Debris and grease deposits build up over time and create blockages. Tree roots find cracks and holes and obstruct the flow, and broken, sagging or offset pipes are some of the most common failures that we find.
