What is your first thought when you hear a customer has purchased a plumbing part online?
Are there going to be parts readily available for its repair? ie: parts someone could pick up at Home Depot, Lowes, Ace Hardware, etc. Are the homeowner’s always going to have the paperwork on file for said faucets, fixtures, etc (there are so many manufacturers that many are not even known by any plumber).
If you could have spoken to the customer prior to them placing the order, what would you have told them to watch out for?
Buy fixtures, faucets, etc that one can readily (do it yourself) find parts for. Know the difference between an 8” center set and a 4” center set.
Aside from their savings, are there any pluses to ordering them from a plumbing perspective?
When the faucet/fixture is purchased from the plumbing contractor the plumbing contractor has his warranty on it also. The plumbing contractor may be able to offer some suggestions that may not have been thought of by the homeowner.
